Tourism Board: Proloco

The Proloco Tourist Association has been operating since February 2005.

The year in which it was established by notarial deed and registered with UNPLI, the National Union of Pro Loco of Italy. In synergy with other entities involved in various capacities in the territory and, with the support of the municipal administration, it plays a fundamental role in the wide-ranging promotion of tourism in and around the village. In line with its nature, over the years the Association has been able to combine the enhancement of local specialties with the vocation to develop social growth and improve the well-being of the population. Senté d’Art, the Parco delle Rose and Passeggiate nei Boschi are an expression of this work: Woods that come alive with works of art in continuous evolution and permanent installations, rare and ancient Roses rediscover in the Viale della Rimembranza, now Parco delle Rose, a destination for romantic walks and the cleaned and passable paths open to nature trails and panoramas of rare beauty.

Not just nature but also art. Bossolasco boasts an important past and the wonderful signs of the artisan workshops created in 1960 to pay homage to the town that hosted them and inspired their works are proof of this. The Proloco has dusted them off and installed them in an interesting permanent exhibition space in the council chamber, where it is also possible to admire the paintings, purchased by the same, by painters such as Chessa, Casorati and Soffiantini.

The season of events opens with the Festa delle Rose, which takes place on the first Sunday in June. A celebration of this flower that has become a characteristic element of the town, whose plants in full bloom adorn the streets of the historic center accompanying the visitor in an explosion of colors and scents.
The Patronal feast dedicated to San Giovanni Battista takes place on June 24th. The Liturgical Solemnity with the Holy Mass and the procession through the streets of the Patron Saint's Town is followed by the Festival in Viale Bruno which welcomes, in a convivial and joyful atmosphere, games and entertainment and the merenda sinoira with traditional dishes.

“Formaggi sotto le Stelle” for many years has been an unmissable event for those who wanted to taste the typical products of the area in a unique and refined setting. In the suggestive setting of Piazza XX Settembre, the diner was guided in a tasting, by candlelight, of local cheeses paired with fine wines, interspersed with moments of live music. An exciting sensory journey.

The summer continues with various events and demonstrations, organized or simply supported by the Association, which welcomes and promotes those who choose Bossolasco as a meeting place or a stopover for their initiatives (motorcycle rallies, vintage cars, running races, cycling races...).

"Eat and Dance" is an event born in 2016, the result of the collaboration of the Proloco with local businesses, in particular, with the restaurants of the town. These are midweek evenings in the months of July and August, which combine music with wine and food, with street food and food and wine tastings. In 2019 it saw its 4th and final edition, then the suspension in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic. In 2022 some restaurants expressed the desire to repeat the experience and therefore in collaboration with the PROLOCO we decided to organize the 5th edition of EAT & DANCE. The event took place on four Thursday evenings starting from mid-July until the beginning of August, with the participation of large musical groups who attracted their fans and the public in an engaging way. In September, "Il Salotto Letterario" takes shape, in collaboration with the Municipality, a debate is organized between authors and writers with special guests as part of the International Competition dedicated to Yellow Literature, thus giving the name to the event of Rosa in Giallo.

On the third Sunday of October, Bossolasco hosts the chestnut festival. The advancing autumn enhances, with its colors, the spirit of the festival. The sensation it gives the visitor is that of a leap into the past: in the historic streets and squares, people gather, among the artisans and stalls of typical products. In the air, the scent of roasted chestnuts cooked in special perforated pans, the traditional tripe and chickpea soup and wine warm the spirits in an almost surreal atmosphere.
The last event of the year, the Concert of the Immaculate Conception in the splendid Parish Church dedicated to the patron saint San Giovanni Battista, which lends itself, with perfect acoustics, to hosting liturgical and popular Christmas songs. The music goes beyond the confines of the Church and invades the streets of the historic center and Piazza XX Settembre, illuminated only by torches and braziers. The visitor is instantly enveloped in a Christmas atmosphere that fills the heart and refreshed, at the end of the evening, by roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate and mulled wine!
