L'Angelo dell'Alta Langa
On June 7, 2015, the monumental work "The Angel of Alta Langa" by contemporary artist Daniele Cazzato was inaugurated in Piazza XX Settembre.
The idea of creating such an impressive work was born from the emotion that an episode that occurred during the Second World War, right in the town of Bossolasco, struck the sensitive soul of the artist.
At the time, the entire town rallied around a group of Jews fleeing Nazi oppression, welcoming them, hiding them and protecting them, saving their lives. Meeting this angel for the first time, we invite you to observe its forms: the left wing that embraces and protects and the right wing extended, strong, ready to stop any threat, but equally willing to welcome those who intend to take refuge in him.
He is the exact representation of the love that our ancestors, here in Bossolasco, in this square, were able to offer to people in difficulty, scared, seeking protection.
The Angel of Alta Langa has landed in this wonderful square and we must think that this work is not only from Bossolasco or Alta Langa, but is a universal heritage.
